OPS State Law Enforcement Dispatcher (Part-Time)
The Florida Highway Patrol is now offering part-time Other Personal Services (OPS) positions on a pilot basis, marking the first time they have provided such opportunities. All applicants must meet the requirements listed below. As a part-time OPS SLED position, individuals may work up to twenty-four (24) hours per week. The flexible scheduling may appeal to candidates who wish to remain employed with their current agency but are available to work outside of their usual shifts at an rate of $24 per hour. Please note that standard state benefits such as; state group insurances and FRS are not available for this position. A temporary position in a state agency is one that is authorized under section 110.131, Florida Statutes, and is paid from a non-salary account including an other personal services or an OPS account. The OPS SLED would be required to perform all duties of the career service SLED, which includes answering incoming phone calls and dispatching field personnel via radio.
Communications Operator Trainee
This is a training position in responsible specialized work in dispatching police units to emergencies and assisting the public and providing information to officers through State-wide computer systems and complaint desk activities.
